This brings our total funding to Tk 78 crore, marking the highest seed-stage funding for a Bangladeshi startup.

Job Description

We are reimagining academic books through a product lens, but hiring for a role that publishers will recognise.

As a Commissioning Editor, you will own each book from defining its purpose and audience through to publication readiness. You will work across academics, design, content operations, engineering, and external reviewers to turn student needs into a clear publication specification and ensure the finished book delivers on it.

This is not a line-by-line proofreading role. You will not personally catch every typo or correct every page. You will define the standards, assign the right reviews, maintain the quality gates, and stop a book from moving forward when it is not ready.

Salary: BDT 40,000 - BDT 60,000

Modality: Full-time Working Hours: 40 hours/week Department: Content (Academics)  Experience Required: 2+ years of years in academic publishing, commissioning, curriculum development, educational content, or related work. Initial focus: Business Studies and Humanities publications

- Define the target student, core problem, use case, learning outcome, competitive benchmark, and reason the book should exist. - Define what must be approved at each stage, who approves it, what evidence is required, and what should block a book from progressing.

- Verify that book chapters and question banks strictly align with current curriculum standards (NCTB/HSC/SSC/Admission) and internal publication guidelines.

- Review book layouts and explanations from a student's perspective to ensure concepts are clear, structured, and easy to read.

- Own, maintain, and improve the 10MS Publications Constitution. Convert its principles into practical standards, checklists, rubrics, approval criteria, and documented exception processes.

- Keep authors, subject experts, designers, content operations, engineering teams, and external reviewers aligned on the book vision, responsibilities, timelines, and unresolved decisions.

- Track student feedback, product usage, quality failures, error escape rates, and production retrospectives. Use the findings to improve future books and the Publications Constitution itself.

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Business Studies, Humanities, Education, English, or a relevant academic discipline.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You have experience in academic publishing, commissioning, educational content, curriculum, or content operations.

- You can turn an ambiguous idea into a clear audience, purpose, scope, and publication plan.

- You are comfortable speaking directly with students and changing decisions based on evidence.

- You have strong writing and editorial judgment, even though you will not be the book’s proofreader.

- You can coordinate specialists and hold a publication until the required standards are met.

- You can distinguish between a useful book component and something added only because it looks impressive.

- You have basic computer skills and can work confidently with documents, spreadsheets, forms, and project tools.

- You care more about whether students can depend on a book than how quickly it can be printed. School/college teachers are highly encouraged to apply.

Additional Information

It is a bonus if you do not trust AI too much.

We use AI heavily, but producing more content is not the same as producing a book that students can trust. This role exists to define what each book must achieve and protect the standards required before it reaches publication. The goal is not to publish more books. The goal is to publish books worth trusting.
